Local correction engine
Applies mapped deterministic fixes, reparses accepted output, and returns typed outcomes.
PREFIX for Python 0.1.0
PREFIX for Python is prebuilt, downloadable software for deterministic local correction of a bounded set of Python 3.12 structural errors. It applies mapped corrections, validates accepted output through parse/reparse and AST checks, surfaces bounded advice without mutation, and refuses unsupported states.
Included in 0.1.0
This is a license to prebuilt software—not consulting, a subscription, or a custom implementation.
Made for individual Python developers who want a small, predictable correction tool in the command line or VS Code. It checks structure, not your program's business logic, and does not run your Python code.
Applies mapped deterministic fixes, reparses accepted output, and returns typed outcomes.
Analyze, apply, inspect receipts, replay accepted corrections, and roll back when a receipt has a rollback-ready parse-valid pre-image.
Includes the existing editor interface. Review the tested-version limits below before relying on editor corrections.
Platform packages, wheel, VSIX, SHA-256 checksums, release manifest, and offline verifier.
Bounded correction
PREFIX does not claim universal repair. It admits a mutation only when declared rules produce one mapped structural continuation.

The shipped VSIX invokes the installed local engine. Version 0.1.0 exposes a small, explicit command surface and does not silently expand beyond it.

The demo uses the qualified 0.1.0 command-line product on Windows to show a mapped missing-colon correction, parse/reparse proof, a refused unsupported state with no source change, receipt inspection, deterministic replay, and conditional rollback.
No animation or simulated output is used as evidence of product behavior.

macOS, ARM platforms, Python 3.11, Python 3.13, Python 3.14, and later versions are not qualified for version 0.1.0.
Includes a bundled CPython 3.12.10 runtime and per-user installation.
The latest Windows CLI check passed. Editor correction in VS Code 1.134.0 timed out; editor use there is not verified.Requires an installed CPython >=3.12,<3.13 runtime.
Retained editor evidence covers Ubuntu under WSL2 with CPython 3.12.3 and native Linux VS Code 1.85.2. The CLI can operate without VS Code.Clear retail terms

The latest Windows check of the original wheel and bundled CPython 3.12.10 runtime passed all 40 CLI assertions. In the latest Windows editor test, correction in VS Code 1.134.0 timed out after five seconds; editor use on that version is not verified.
Retained Linux evidence covers Ubuntu under WSL2 with CPython 3.12.3 and native Linux VS Code 1.85.2. This is not a new bare-metal Linux test or verification of newer editor versions.
The Windows package is unsigned. No macOS, ARM, other Python versions or code-signing claim is included.
CLI receipts contain source text and paths. Keep them private. They are content-bound records, not digital signatures. Editor commands do not create CLI receipts.
